Psychiatric Rehabilitation Program

Beacon of Hope offers Psychiatric Rehabilitation Program (PRP) services to children and adolescents with a mental health diagnosis who have behavioral, emotional, intellectual, and social problems. We also provide services to adults with serious, severe, and persistent mental illness. We have an experienced staff who meet with clients to thoroughly assess their strengths, abilities, and needs while collaborating with our licensed mental health clinician to develop a rehabilitation plan of targeted goals to help prepare our clients for success in various areas including, but not limited to, self-care, employment, independent living skills, housing, social, substance abuse, health wellness, medication compliance, financial management, vocational skills, community integration, and crisis intervention.

Weekly structured onsite activities and offsite visits are offered to improve our clients’ quality of life. We have weekly onsite activities at our office, in which clients learn and participate in a variety of educational topics and interactive activities in a group setting. We have Rehabilitation Coordinators, experienced and trained professionals, who visit clients in their home or a community setting on a weekly basis. The Rehabilitation Coordinators work closely with clients to help educate, teach, and model skills to help them to achieve their goals while on their road of recovery and integrating in the community.

To enroll in PRP, the prospective client has to be referred by a licensed mental health provider. PRP services are covered by Maryland Medicaid or private pay. For more information, you may complete the online referral form, call the office at (410) 685-2830, or visit our office at 1721 Pennsylvania Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21217.
